Avon Cosmetics is the largest direct selling cosmetics
organisation in the world. There are approximately 4 million Representatives
operating in 145 countries, contributing to an annual turnover in excess of $5
billion. Avon was established in the UK in 1959 and the company now employs
over 1,900 people. The Northampton site supports both the UK and regional
European businesses and our customer service and distribution centre is based
at Corby. Throughout the UK we have a network of sales managers who support our
160,000 independent Avon Representatives.

Avon was the first major beauty company to stop testing products and
ingredients on animals. That was back in 1989. Avon does not test products or
ingredients on animals, nor do we request others to do so on our behalf.
However, we do believe that product quality and safety are of paramount
importance, and we seek to ensure that the products we sell meet our own very
high standards by conducting controlled laboratory tests. We also invite
volunteers to try our products to evaluate their efficacy and to ensure that
the products are both easy and pleasant to use.
Avon is a founding
member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) which sets the standard by which
all direct selling organisations function.
